birthday party

Well, the party was a success! When the buckaroos arrived Saturday afternoon Colton made sure each one was equipped with a horse and a cowboy hat and then we headed to the backyard to have a horse relay. It was fun to watch the little kids run around holding on to their hats, not really sure of what to do, but having a good time anyway. Then we came in and had each one of the kids make a "brand" (whatever they wanted) so we could "brand" the cow (like pin the tail on the donkey). As each one of the children tried to get their brand closest to the X, the rest of the group would light up in giggles. Weston kept saying "Here, put in on the leg, right here". The next two games were rattlesnake ruckus (played like muscial chairs) and tin can shoot-out. And I think the kids had lots of fun; they each got to leave with their hats, horses, squirt guns, trail mix, and any prizes they won from the games.
Once the party was out of the way, we had family and friends over for some good ol' fashion dutch oven dinner, and it was yummy. My compliments to the chefs. It was a fun night.

The party was so fun! I am just amazed at how much work you put into everything...the horses especially. Seriously. Avery loved it all! Thank you for having us.

And CUTE picture of the week too! You'll have to send me that one because I can't make the side bar pictures bigger. :)

So fun! What a cute idea, especially for that little cowboy of yours. :)
