Here it is, another year later and I'm another year older. When I was younger I remember thinking that people in their 30s and 40s were so old and now here I am 33 with wrinkles, gut problems, grey hair, aches and pains in joints every once in a while, and a slower metabolism. But I wouldn't have it any other way. There are a few things I have learned over the years; 1. I don't know everything; contrary to what I thought when I was a teenager or in my early 20s. I have a lot of learn (about everything). 2. Life is precious and circumstances can change in an instant. 3. The church is true no matter where you are in your life. 4. It's ok to not be in control of everything (gasp). This one has taken me the longest to learn and has been the hardest lesson to learn as well. 5. Pick your battles. Not everything is worth fighting over. If you ever see me at the grocery store with a child in pajamas, now you will know why. 6. I'm not as agile or as limber as I used to be so I have to quit trying to be a stunt man. 7. Spend as much time as possible with my kids - they grow up too fast. 8. Taking time for yourself everyday is essential. 9. Family matters. 10. Always say thank you. And last but not least - I saw this quote a while back and have tried to apply it to my life because it is so true . . . . and I think there are a lot of people out there that are quick to judge or comment about someone or something before they really think. It goes like this: 'Be kind, for everyone you meet is fighting a hard battle.' Tuesday, March 29, 2011

Ok you seriously crack me up! :) I love number 6. You seriously need to take that advice. Stop trying to grab tree limbs. lol This has to be one of my favorite posts of yours! And I really love the end of this post because really everyone is fighting some kind of private battle and no one should judge something or someone when they have no real clue about what is really going on. Hope you had a great birthday! love you to pieces!!!! :)
btw.....how come your cake isn't on the red plate??? :) Hope you used it at least once that day. You deserved the red plate! love ya
How did I miss your birthday?! I hope it was great! Loved the post.
cause that pic isn't from my birthday - i had no cake on my bday. that was just a random pic i had.
do you know how much I love you? I seriously don't know what I would ever do without you around! We so need to go out to lunch or something to celebrate your birthday especially after all this other stress is over!
Hope you had a happy one! You are a wise person. You never do know what challenges other people are facing. Sure love ya!
